When I am away from everyday routines and responsibilities, things are simplified. Not only does my body slow, but my mind and eyes start to re-focus on the minute details of the world around me. This is when I start to absorb patterns and textures, colours and shapes. I become conscious of the special rhythms that are specific to place and to time. Much of my art begins here; physically here and spiritually here.
Delighted to discover you on Pinterest, while looking for encouragement to be bolder with manipulated textiles. Previously I have done some wrapped rope, rucking and rolling with couching and really enjoyed the physicality and change in the fabric’s nature. Your work looks very skilful and beautifully considered and I look forward to looking out for you in future. Many thanks, and best wishes from snowy Scotland, Morag
Thanks Morag, I appreciate your comments. Fabric manipulation is very rewarding and I wish you all the best in your experimentation. Jill
